The proof of Abe's trisection
By itself, proving that Abe's trisection method works is quite
challenging. But if you add a few lines, as shown in the illustration to
the right, then it becomes quite easy to show that triangle AOB =
triangle BOC = triangle COD, which proves that angles AOB, BOC, and COD
are all equal, and thus must be A/3.
